Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all transactions conducted through the website operated by nowcasted. It governs purchases of access to Course A, a professional resource focused on studio production in motion. The course covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and the creation of smooth, high-quality workflows for television news and live shows. The policy covers both one-time purchases and any recurring access arrangements for digital educational content delivered via the platform. It does not extend to physical goods or in-person training sessions. All users located in the United Kingdom are subject to the terms outlined here, which are designed to comply with applicable UK legislation including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related distance selling provisions.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges

All listed prices for Course A access are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP). Prices are inclusive of value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. No hidden charges apply beyond the displayed total at checkout. Any optional add-ons, such as extended access periods or supplementary materials, are clearly itemised before payment is authorised. Currency conversion fees may be levied by the customer's payment provider if a non-GBP card is used, but nowcasted does not impose additional foreign transaction fees. Price changes may occur from time to time; however, the price confirmed at the point of purchase remains fixed for that transaction.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security

Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as certain digital wallet options where supported by the payment processor. All transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that employ industry-standard encryption. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission of order details. In cases where authorisation fails, the order will not proceed and the customer will be notified. nowcasted does not store full card details; security is managed entirely by the authorised payment provider in line with PCI DSS requirements.

Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

Upon successful payment, an order confirmation email is sent to the address provided by the customer. This confirmation constitutes acceptance of the order by nowcasted and formation of the contract. Access credentials or links to Course A are then made available through the user account dashboard. The contract is deemed formed under UK law at the moment the confirmation is dispatched, subject to the customer's statutory rights to cancel within the applicable period.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers purchasing digital content or services at a distance have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract is concluded. Cancellation within this period entitles the customer to a full refund provided that access to the course materials has not been downloaded or streamed. If the customer has begun consuming the content, the right to cancel may be lost. Customers must notify nowcasted of their intention to cancel in writing within the 14-day window.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available for cancellations made within the 14-day period where no substantial use of the course has occurred. Exclusions apply once the customer has accessed or downloaded more than a reasonable sample of the materials, or after the cooling-off period has expired. Promotional offers, gift subscriptions, and third-party bundled services are generally non-refundable once activated. Technical issues caused by the customer's own equipment or internet connection do not qualify for refund.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund, the customer should contact [email protected] or use the contact form available on the Contacts page, providing the order number, date of purchase, and a clear statement of the reason for the request. No specific form is required, but sufficient detail must be supplied to allow identification of the transaction. Requests may also be submitted by post to Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG or by telephone on 01494 671234. All refund requests must be made within the applicable time limits.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

Upon receipt of a refund request, nowcasted will acknowledge it within five working days and conduct a review of the transaction history and usage data. The customer will be notified of approval or rejection by email within fourteen days. If rejected, the reasons will be explained together with any options for appeal or alternative resolution. Approved refunds will proceed to processing without further action required from the customer.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days after approval, although the time for funds to appear in the customer's account may vary depending on the payment provider. In all cases, refunds will be completed within thirty days of the cancellation notice. No fees are charged for processing refunds.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant

Because Course A consists of digital content, the statutory right to cancel is lost once the customer has begun to access the materials. Subscriptions, if offered, may be cancelled at any time but refunds are limited to the unused portion only after the initial 14-day period. Promotional codes and discounted access are non-transferable and refunds are calculated on the amount actually paid.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

In the event of a failed payment, the customer will be notified and given the opportunity to retry with an alternative method. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded automatically where confirmed. Chargebacks or disputes will be handled in accordance with card scheme rules, but customers are encouraged to contact nowcasted first to resolve issues amicably. Suspected fraudulent activity may result in immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude

Nothing in this policy affects the customer's statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. Customers retain the right to seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes if they are dissatisfied with the outcome of a refund request.

Contact Route, Policy Changes, and Last-Updated Date

Questions regarding this policy should be directed to [email protected], 01494 671234, or via the contact form on the Contacts page. nowcasted reserves the right to amend this policy from time to time; material changes will be notified to existing customers by email. The current version is always available on the website and was last updated on 5 October 2026. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
